The Byron United Methodist Church's Board of Trustees is comprised of the following members:

Mission Statement: To ensure God’s house is an inviting environment that will promote a safe place to gather,
while creating a haven where people are inspired to worship and witness to the community.

The Board of Trustees is charged with the responsibility for management of the real property owned by the church as well as gifts donated to the church. There are nine members who currently serve on the Board of Trustees. Many others volunteer their time and talents to assist with various projects throughout the year. We are deeply appreciative and grateful for all God has called to serve in this area of ministry in our church.

2008 Schedule of Tasks

January - March

Schedule Trustees Meeting
Organize and elect officers.
Review and evaluate all property and buildings.
Conduct an energy audit.
Schedule quarterly workday
Report to the church council.

April - June

Schedule Trustees Meeting
Inventory equipment and prepare a maintenance schedule.
Evaluate service contracts.
Evaluate insurance coverage.
Tour all facilities to consider access for persons with disabilities.
Schedule quarterly workday
Report to the church council.

July - September

Schedule Trustees Meeting
Review and evaluate all buildings and property.
Project financial needs for next year's budget.
Review building use policy.
Inspect HVAC system for efficient use.
Schedule quarterly workday
Report to the church council.

October - December

Schedule Trustees Meeting
Tour parsonage and meet with parsonage family about needs concerning their home.
Review year-end needs for annual report and audit.
Inventory and inspect equipment.
Check all fire extinguishers.
Schedule quarterly workday
Report to the church council.

The Trustees Ministry is on-going. There are always building improvements that need to be made to further the ministry of BUMC. We welcome and are thankful for all the suggestions, ideas, and help from all who worship in our beautiful church. We are blessed to be called to serve our Lord in caring for our building and grounds.
